It is with sadness that we announce the retirement of Ken Purnell from the Parish Council – one beating heart of the Cold Ashton community.
The Parish Council is thus looking for a new councillor – a parish councillor in Cold Ashton gives the Cold Ashton community a voice, can shape decisions on Parish life (albeit with a very limited budget) and helps protect community interests. Parish councillors support planning, rural services and amenities, while working with neighbours and higher authorities (South Gloucestershire Council) to strengthen local democracy and improve the quality of life within the Parish. Your commitment is to attend six meetings a year, to keep your metaphorical finger on the metaphorical pulse of the Cold Ashton community and to dutifully read the materials that your Parish Clerk prepares for you.
